~ East Boston, MA- On September 15, Mayor Wu's fifth Open Streets event of the summer took place, closing select roads to cars and opening them up to the public. Residents of all ages were able to enjoy a car-free stroll, bike ride, and shopping experience between Meridian Street (from Maverick to Porter) and Bennington Street (from Porter to Day Square).
The event was a collaborative effort between the Age Strong Commission, other city departments, and local organizations. Attendees were able to access information and resources provided by these groups throughout the day. The event also featured live music, food vendors, and various activities for all ages.
