With less than 15% of manufacturers having the unified data needed to meet emerging requirements, Assent's CBAM solution delivers part-level emissions data and supplier automation at scale.
WASHINGTON - BostonChron -- Assent Inc., the leader in supply chain sustainability management, unveiled an enhanced solution for the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), built on a foundation of deep regulatory expertise, market demand, and AI-enhanced technology. The next-generation CBAM solution provides greater visibility through part-level emissions data collection and an in-product calculator for suppliers, empowering manufacturers to confidently meet CBAM reporting requirements, improve customer relationships, and accelerate program maturity.
Complex manufacturers are navigating recent updates to the CBAM scope, including the new 50-ton import threshold. Last year, Assent research showed that less than 15% of manufacturers and adjacent segments have the supplier connectivity and part-level visibility required to keep pace with market demands and emerging product sustainability regulations, including CBAM.

Assent's new CBAM solution includes a built-in carbon emissions calculator that enables suppliers to easily provide the data companies need to comply with CBAM's strict methodology. Additionally, the solution enables manufacturers to store and map their supplier emissions data to their products within Assent's network, helping companies minimize financial risk while gaining a competitive advantage by building a foundation for product carbon footprint tracking. Foundational elements, such as embedded regulatory expertise and multi-lingual supplier support offered with all of Assent's solutions, also extend to the new offering.
Assent has integrated technology from German-based company Forward Earth, a developer of AI-driven carbon management software, to deliver the in-product calculator, and an AI support feature to answer questions and guide suppliers through the carbon calculation process.
"Manufacturers are under extraordinary pressure to quantify and report embedded carbon emissions across complex global supply chains, and spreadsheets and legacy tools simply can't handle the work," said Catherine Cormier, Chief Product Officer at Assent. "By embedding in-product calculation within the enhanced CBAM solution, we're empowering manufacturers and their suppliers to streamline data collection, automate emissions calculations, and confidently meet evolving regulatory demands. This marks a new standard in how primary emissions data is gathered and leveraged at scale."
