Boston: Barbados Celebrates 57 Years

~ Boston City Council has adopted a resolution to honor Barbados' 57th Independence Day, and directed the Property Management Department to raise the Barbados flag over City Hall Plaza. This is in recognition of the significant contribution of the 4,704 foreign-born Barbadians living in Massachusetts, with 2,595 residing in Boston. This makes them the 15th largest country of origin among Boston's foreign-born population, making up 1.5% of the city's total foreign-born residents. The Barbadian community has enriched and enhanced the cultural, social and economic life of Boston through various facets including business, sports, politics, education, dance, literature and the arts.
