~ The Massachusetts Clean Energy Technology Center (MassCEC) has recently awarded a grant of up to $1,519,383 to the Otis School in East Boston for construction work aimed at enhancing the school's HVAC systems. This funding will go towards upgrading the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in the building.
In addition, the Council has given authorization for the city to accept and utilize a $25,000 grant from The Obama Foundation. This grant will be managed by the City's Black Male Advancement initiative and will support various initiatives focused on educational achievement, workforce readiness, safety, mentorship, and other priorities that have been identified by the local community. These efforts are aimed at promoting long-term success for boys and young men of color.
