Boston: City Council Calls for Equal Treatment of all Missing Women Cases

Trending...
~ Councilor Mejia has spoken out about the disappearance of Reina Carolina Morales Rojas, an East Boston resident, Salvadoran immigrant and mother of two. It took nearly two months for the Boston Police Department to publicly announce her disappearance.

The Council has passed a resolution stating that police protection should be afforded equally to all residents regardless of race, national origin or gender. The Council is urging the City of Boston and the BPD to thoroughly investigate Ms. Morales Rojas' disappearance, commit to ensuring plans are in place for how they will respond to such cases in the future and maximize transparency with the community. This comes as missing cases of women of color are often unmet with the same urgency as their white counterparts.
