Boston: Fire Prevention Chemist Applications Now On Fire Prevention Portal

Trending...
~ The City of Boston Fire Prevention Department is encouraging residents to apply for their Flame Certifications as soon as possible. The fees and requirements are the same, however each application is limited to two items. The processing time for applications is 10 business days, not including weekends or holidays. If a sample is required, applicants have 10 days to submit it to the Departmental Chemist. After receipt of the sample, an additional five days of processing will be needed.

All samples with the CHM# on it should be mailed/delivered to: Boston Fire Prevention c/o Departmental Chemist Office 1010 Massachusetts Avenue - 4th Floor Boston, MA 02118. Once payment is received, the application will be forwarded to the Department Chemist who will review it and (if required) test the sample once it is received. They will then approve, request more information or in some cases deny the application. Applicants will receive email notification at any of these milestones and when their application is finalized they will have the ability to print out their permit.
