~ Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and the Office of Tourism, Sports, and Entertainment have announced an exciting lineup of summer dance events for the community to enjoy. The festivities will kick off with the highly anticipated 11th annual Donna Summer Disco Party. This event, held on City Hall Plaza, will feature glow sticks, colorful lights, a disco ball, and the return of roller skating.
Mayor Wu expressed her excitement for the event, stating that it is a great way for all residents across the city to come together for a fun night of family-friendly activities. The Disco Party is an annual event that honors Boston's own Donna Summer, a disco legend and five-time Grammy winner who has sold over 140 million records worldwide.
John Borders IV, Director of Tourism, Sports, and Entertainment for the City of Boston, also shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming events. He stated that these dance parties are more than just celebrations - they are expressions of Boston's soul. From honoring Donna Summer's legacy to showcasing the cultural richness of every corner of the city, these events aim to create spaces where joy, movement, and community thrive.
