~ Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has announced the appointment of Madison Foley as the new Dorchester Liaison in the Office of Neighborhood Services. This role is crucial in connecting residents to city services and resources, gathering input from the community on local government matters, and ensuring prompt responses to constituent service requests. The liaison also attends neighborhood meetings and assists with emergency situations such as fires that may displace residents.
As the largest neighborhood in Boston, Dorchester is served by two liaisons. Foley will be responsible for areas including Dorchester Bay, Savin Hill, Ashmont, and Lower Mills, while Mid-Dorchester Neighborhood Liaison Anthony Nguyen will serve Uphams Corner, Bowdoin/Geneva, Four Corners, and Codman Square.
In a statement released by Mayor Wu's office, she expressed confidence in Foley's ability to serve the diverse community of Dorchester. "Dorchester is the biggest and one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the city of Boston," said Mayor Wu. "Madison's roots in Adams Village and experience in youth sports make her a great asset to the Office of Neighborhood Services."

Foley was born and raised in Boston's Adams Village and still resides there. She attended Saint Brendan Catholic School before moving on to Boston Collegiate Charter School. She then earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Massachusetts Boston. With a background in childcare, youth sports, and hospitality, Foley brings a unique set of skills to her new role.
She previously served as a softball coach for two years at All Dorchester Sports & Leadership program before graduating college. Now, she is eager to play a bigger role in her beloved city by serving as a liaison for her community. "As a neighborhood liaison, I will approach my work with utmost respect and gratitude not only to Dorchester constituents but also to Mayor Wu," said Foley. "I look forward to giving back to the community that has given me so much in my life growing up in Boston."
Foley takes over the position from former Dorchester Liaison Ross Cochran, who has transitioned to a role as an analyst in the Procurement Department. Office of Neighborhood Services Executive Director Beata Coloyan expressed her confidence in Foley's ability to serve the community. "Madison's Dorchester roots and background serving people make her poised for the role as our City's newest neighborhood liaison," said Coloyan. "I am excited for Dorchester residents to get to know her and utilize her as a resource to connect constituents to City Hall."
