~ Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has announced the appointment of Zoë Petty as the new Hyde Park Liaison in the Office of Neighborhood Services. The Office of Neighborhood Services plays a crucial role in connecting residents to city services and resources, gathering resident input on local government matters, coordinating responses to constituent service requests from various city departments, attending neighborhood meetings, and providing assistance during emergencies such as fires.
According to Mayor Wu, Petty's strong ties to the Boston community through her personal experiences and career in government make her an invaluable asset in connecting Hyde Park residents with the Office of Neighborhood Services. "Hyde Park is such a diverse, community-driven neighborhood," said Mayor Wu. "Zoë's passion for civic engagement and her extensive experience make her the perfect candidate to serve as the liaison for Hyde Park."
Petty, who was born and raised in Boston, credits her involvement with various community-based organizations for sparking her interest in public service at a young age. She began volunteering with Youth Enrichment Services (YES) at just 13 years old and later served on the Mayor's Youth Council during high school. She holds a bachelor's degree in Strategic Communication and Political Science from Temple University and has worked at organizations such as the Massachusetts State House, Madison Park Development Corporation, and the Community College of Philadelphia. She also gained international experience as a Constituency Intern with the British Parliament.

The Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services is led by Executive Director Lindsey Santana along with four deputy directors who supervise liaisons and community engagement specialists. These liaisons and specialists play a crucial role in facilitating abutters meetings and providing neighborhoods with additional support and resources.
