~ Boston's Best Youth Hockey Teams to Compete for Mayor's Cup Title in 2025 Tournament
The city of Boston is gearing up for an exciting event that celebrates community, sportsmanship, and the love for hockey. The 2025 Mayor's Cup Ice Hockey Tournament, hosted by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department with support from the Boston Bruins Foundation and P&G Gillette, will see youth hockey teams from across the city hit the ice to compete for the coveted title of "Boston's Best."
Starting on December 5th, the tournament will feature a total of 134 games across nine rinks located throughout the city. Nearly 1,500 young hockey players representing seven programs - Allston-Brighton, S.C.O.R.E. Boston, Charlestown, Dorchester, Hyde Park, Parkway, and South Boston - will battle it out in 15 divisions for the 31st Annual Mayor's Cup title.
Mayor Michelle Wu expressed her excitement for the event stating that youth sports are crucial in promoting team activities and building relationships among young people while also encouraging them to stay healthy and active. She looks forward to seeing Boston's young athletes represent their communities as they compete for the "Boston's Best" title.
