~ Boston, MA - The annual tradition of the Tree for Boston continued this year as the official 2025 Christmas tree arrived on Tuesday, November 18 at 11 a.m. on Boston Common. The 45-foot-tall white spruce was transported by flatbed truck from Nova Scotia and received a warm welcome from the public, who cheered as it made its way onto the Common. This year's tree was nominated by former property owners Ronald and Claire Feener of Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia.

The arrival of the Tree for Boston was met with fanfare and excitement, with candy canes being handed out and even a special appearance by Santa Claus himself. This event marks the beginning of the holiday season in Boston and sets the stage for other festive events to come.

One such event is the Lighting of the Trellis at Christopher Columbus Park on Monday, November 24 from 5-6 p.m. Located on Boston's historic waterfront, this park will be transformed into a beautiful holiday display with 260 feet of trellis illuminated by 50,000 blue lights. The Friends of Christopher Columbus Park have played a crucial role in stewarding this site and will continue to do so during this holiday season.

Richard - the youngest victim of the Boston Marathon bombings - that provides a space for children, families, and visitors of all abilities. The park includes a ship as its centerpiece play structure which will be lit up for the holidays.

On Monday, December 1 from 4-6 p.m., Copley Square will welcome back its annual tree lighting ceremony after being postponed since 2022. The Boston Parks and Recreation Department and the Friends of Copley Square have joined forces to bring this free event to the public. Attendees can expect to see Santa Claus, Rudolph, live music, and enjoy light refreshments while celebrating the reopening of the newly renovated park.
