Trending...
~ The Irish Pastoral Centre (IPC) in Dorchester has been a vital resource for Irish immigrants in the Greater Boston area since its establishment in 1987. Founded by Fr. Dan Finn, the center continues to fulfill its mission of providing assistance to those who are new to the country.

As a non-profit organization, the IPC offers a wide range of services including legal, social, educational, and spiritual support to immigrants of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. This support is crucial in helping newcomers adjust to their new lives in a foreign country.

One of the center's most notable programs is its Senior Programming, which caters specifically to older adults. Through this program, seniors can participate in various activities such as weekly wellness calls and the Friday Fish and Chips Supper Club. The Bumble Bee Knitting Club also meets every Thursday from 11am-1pm, welcoming individuals of all skill levels.

In addition to these activities, older adults can also drop into one of the weekly coffee clubs held in Brighton, Dorchester, West Roxbury or Weymouth. These gatherings provide an opportunity for seniors to socialize with both new and old friends over coffee, tea, treats and even music and educational presentations. The center also offers free health insurance counseling through its SHINE (serving the health insurance needs of everyone) Counselor on site.

For more information about any of these programs or services offered by IPC, individuals can contact them at 617-265-5300 or visit their website. The Irish Pastoral Centre remains committed to its mission of providing support and assistance to immigrants from all walks of life.
