BOSTON - BostonChron -- The International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID) is inviting applications for the position of Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Infectious Diseases (IJID), the Society's flagship scientific journal. The appointment will begin July 1, 2026, with a transition period, and full leadership of the journal is expected by October 1, 2026.
The International Journal of Infectious Diseases is a leading peer-reviewed, open-access publication dedicated to advancing research and knowledge in infectious diseases. With a 2024 Impact Factor of 4.3, the journal ranks in the first quartile (Q1) of infectious diseases journals and has established a strong global reputation for publishing high-quality scientific research.
Published monthly by the International Society for Infectious Diseases, IJID disseminates critical findings related to the epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment, and control of infectious diseases, with particular emphasis on diseases affecting under-resourced regions of the world.

Applications for the Editor-in-Chief position must be submitted by April 20, 2026.
Virtual interviews will be conducted May 12–14, 2026. The selected Editor-in-Chief will begin reviewing new manuscripts alongside the editorial team starting July 1, 2026, with the full transition into the role expected by October 1, 2026.

- Significant editorial experience in academic publishing
