From first kisses to final goodbyes, a third-generation Kelowna entrepreneur is inviting people around the world to share their love stories — and turning each one into a living legacy, free of charge.
KELOWNA, British Columbia - BostonChron -- 1,667 Peonies. 1,667 Love Stories. One Canadian Farm Is Planting Love That Could Last 100 Years.
Third-generation Kelowna entrepreneur Kelsey Kitsch is turning her family's land into a living archive of love — and inviting people around the world to become part of it, for free.
KELOWNA, BC — What if you could plant a love story in the earth and know it might still be blooming 100 years from now?
That's the idea behind Love Story Peonies.
Founded by Canadian entrepreneur Kelsey Kitsch, the project is planting 1,667 peonies, each dedicated to a real love story submitted by someone, somewhere in the world.
But this is no ordinary flower farm.
Beneath each peony, a love story is being planted. The stories are also being collected and preserved in a digital archive, creating a growing collection of human connection that will live alongside the flowers.
And because well-cared-for peonies can live for more than a century, those stories could continue blooming long after the people who first told them are gone.
A flower farm growing more than flowers
Love Story Peonies is inviting people everywhere to submit a love story to be planted at the farm, completely free of charge.
It might be the story of a marriage spanning 60 years. A first kiss. A grandmother's unconditional love. A friendship that saved someone's life. The pet that was always there. A love lost too soon, or one that hasn't happened yet.
There are no rules about what kind of love deserves to be remembered.

Every story matters.
When a story's peony begins to bloom, its storyteller will receive a photograph of their flower — a beautiful, tangible reminder that their love is still growing somewhere in the world.
No purchase. No donation. Just love, planted.
Three generations of roots. A hundred more years of love.
For Kitsch, the project is deeply personal.
Her family has called Kelowna home for three generations. Now, she is transforming a portion of the family's estate into something that connects the land's history with the stories of people she may never meet.
"My family has roots in this soil going back three generations. I started wondering what it would mean to plant something here that might outlive all of us," says Kitsch.
"Peonies can live for more than 100 years. Imagine knowing that the story of someone you loved could still be blooming here a century from now. That someone who never knew you might walk through this field, see your flower, and learn that your love existed."
The project is designed to become a living, blooming archive of love in all its forms — a place where the ordinary and extraordinary stories of human connection are given a permanent home.
1,667 flowers. An invitation to the world.
The first planting began in October 2026, with friends, family and community volunteers helping bring the farm to life.
But the real ambition reaches far beyond Kelowna.
Kitsch hopes to gather love stories from across Canada and around the globe, building a remarkable collection of memories that people can eventually experience through the flowers themselves.
"I think we underestimate how much it matters to know that our love leaves something behind," says Kitsch.
"Not everyone gets a monument. Not everyone writes a book. But everyone has a love story worth remembering. I wanted to create somewhere those stories could take root."
