~ Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has announced the highly anticipated lineup for the 24th annual Gospel Fest. The event, which celebrates both national and local gospel talent, will take place on Sunday, August 25 at 5:00 p.m. at the Leader Bank Pavilion.
Mayor Wu expressed her excitement for this year's Gospel Fest, stating that it is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate music and community. She also commended the Office of Tourism, Sports, and Entertainment and community partners for organizing such a tremendous show.
The Gospel Fest will feature performances by top three finalist on BET's "Sunday Best," Latice Crawford, as well as renowned headliner Micah Stampley. Both artists are known for their energetic styles and have been in the gospel music industry for nearly two decades.
John Borders IV, Director of Tourism, Sports, and Entertainment for the City of Boston, shared his enthusiasm for this year's lineup. He stated that there is a mix of old and new talent that will appeal to everyone in attendance. Borders also emphasized the importance of bringing the community together to celebrate the tradition of gospel music.

Will Dickerson, Faith-Based Community Liaison, expressed his excitement for this year's Gospel Fest as well. He described it as a staple event for the community that brings together people of all ages in fellowship. Dickerson encouraged everyone to join in on the festivities later this month to build community and enjoy gospel music while ending the summer on a high note.
Doors will open at 4:00 p.m., with the show starting at 5:00 p.m. Pre-registration is not required for this event. Concession stands will be available and attendees can also stay hydrated with water provided by the Boston Water and Sewer Commission water truck onsite. In addition to Gospel Fest, the Office of Tourism, Sports, and Entertainment is also hosting the Friday Afternoon Concert Series and the Summer Dance Party Series. The weekly concerts take place in Samuel Adams Park at 1 Faneuil Hall Square from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. until August 23. This year's series features a variety of talented artists, including Aadhish Nair Quartet on August 9, Alegria Quartet on August 16, and Trinity Mei on August 23.
The final Dance Party will be held on August 16 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at City Hall Plaza, featuring old school hits with DJ Bruno. These events are part of the city's efforts to create a vibrant summer for its residents and visitors.
With such an exciting lineup of events, Boston residents and visitors alike can look forward to a summer filled with music, community, and celebration.
