"Third Thursdays" in February features the following harmolodic jazz series lineup: Gabriel Solomon (violin), Eric Hofbauer (guitar), Jacob William (bass), Brooke Sofferman (drums) with Dave Bryant (series host/keys).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - BostonChron -- February's "Third Thursdays" concert features Gabriel Solomon (violin), Eric Hofbauer (guitar), Jacob William (bass), and Brooke Sofferman (drums) for an evening of string exploration, electric and acoustic, communal and adventurous.
Host Dave Bryant (keys) notes, "This should be a volatile — but sympathetic! — blending of three wonderful string players with whom I've collaborated for many years. And I'm glad to finally have the chance to welcome Brooke into the fold after playing with him once in Russ Gershon's group. An intriguing combination of the familiar and the unknown, and the best of both worlds!"

The series will be concluding its third 12-month cycle of concerts in March with Matt Lavelle (trumpet, bass clarinet), Fred Williams (bass), and James Kamal Jones (drums), with series host Dave Bryant on keys. Future plans regarding the monthly "Third Thursdays" jazz series will be made available in March.
Monthly "Third Thursdays" performances have all been video recorded, with the goal of documenting Ornette Coleman's impact on the free jazz movement. Another key purpose of the series is to document the experiences, reminiscences, and musical contributions of members of Coleman's bands. All videos, including interviews with Bryant's former Coleman colleagues, are available at dbryantmusic.com/third-thursdays, dbryantmusic.com/musician-interviews, and on youtube.com/@davebryantmusic/videos.
The "Third Thursdays with Dave Bryant and Friends" harmolodic jazz series began in April 2022, with the overall goal of showcasing a diverse range of Boston-area musical artists, as well as Dave's fellow Ornette Coleman sidemen. Supported by the Appalachian Springs Foundation (ASF) (https://dbryantmusic.com/asf-statement/), the series started its third 12-month cycle in April 2024.
