HONK! FESTIVAL: NINETEENTH ANNUAL. Festival of Activist Street Bands. SAVE THE DATES, October 4-6, 2024 (rain or shine), primarily based in the vicinity of Davis Square, Somerville and Harvard Square, Cambridge. FREE AND OPEN TO ALL.
SOMERVILLE, Mass. - BostonChron -- By early September, the wheels will be set in full motion for HONK! Festival 2024, this year to be held from October 4-6, with HONK! outdoor band concerts held throughout Davis Square and nearby neighborhoods on that Friday thru Saturday.
Then on to the vast "Reclaim the Streets for Horns, Bikes, and Feet" Parade, as it wends its way from Davis Square to Harvard Square on Sunday October 6th, to participate in Harvard Square's 45th annual Oktoberfest.
The entire Festival is inspired by a commitment to social change through music, embodied in the powerful upbeat music generated by activist street bands who have traveled from near and far to participate in our annual HONK! Because after all, this is where the HONK! movement all started back in 2006, spawning many a HONK! since then, and warranting its own wiki toboot: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HONK!
