The Battle for a Cause is expected to draw 1,000 attendees. FOOD FIGHT will give budding and more seasoned local chefs the chance to test their culinary skills and creativity in a live battle for the championship title.
HANOVER, Mass. - BostonChron -- The South Shore Food Bank, working to improve food access on the South Shore, help address food equity across towns, and help make fresh options more readily available to families relying on food pantries to meet their needs, is inviting local vendors to secure their spot in the Chef's Choice Market at the upcoming FOOD FIGHT competition.
The highly anticipated event will take place on Saturday, June 21st from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Starland Sportsplex and Fun Park in Hanover. FOOD FIGHT will give budding and more seasoned local chefs the chance to test their culinary skills and creativity in a live battle for the championship title. The event will be hosted by nationally recognized celebrity Chef Stephen Coe, a five-time "Chopped Champion."

Local chefs will compete in four categories – restaurant chef, food truck chef, home chef, and student chef – for a chance to advance to the final round and face off against Chef Coe.
An estimated 1,000 people are expected to attend FOOD FIGHT, this year's major fundraising event.
Local vendors are invited to showcase, sell, and offer samples of their goods to a hungry crowd of food lovers. Specialty food and beverages, kitchen tools, cookbooks, and other food/kitchen related vendors are encouraged to participate.
"Please join the many unique and talented vendors who have already signed up to showcase their wares at what we know will be one amazing event to remember," said Pamela Denholm, executive director of the South Shore Food Bank. "As this year's major fundraiser, FOOD FIGHT will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to improve food access and equity across the South Shore."
