MOUNTAIN LAKES, N.J. - BostonChron -- Susan Schmitt is a career educator and administrator and will be joining The Craig School as Head of School starting July 2023. She comes to us with more than thirty years of experience including teaching at the high school and higher education levels, curriculum development, academic leadership, and expertise in language-based learning differences.
Susan shares the following educational philosophy: " Children diagnosed with language-based learning differences need specific and targeted educational support. A learning environment that can accommodate wrap-around plans to address the varied needs of these complex learners is paramount for tapping the extraordinary potential of neurodiverse brains. A school that can provide and integrate the various support services necessary to serve these learners while providing a research-based structured language curriculum gives the most potent combination to allow LBLD students to thrive and achieve their fullest potential." Susan's greatest strengths as a school leader are her excellent communication skills, her collaborative style, her ability to create an environment of trust with students, parents and faculty and to provide effective learning programs for all students.
