CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - BostonChron -- Keyboardist and composer Dave Bryant continues his monthly harmolodic jazz series "Third Thursdays" with an encounter between jazz and South Indian Carnatic vocal music.
Vocalist Srinivasan Raghuraman will be the featured performer for October's "Third Thursdays" concert. He will be joined by Bryant on keyboards, along with George Garzone on soprano saxophone, Mike Rivard on bass, and Jerry Leake on percussion.
Bryant has this to say about October's session: "Srini is a good friend and a marvelous musician; adventurous, generous, and eager to share his tradition with sympathetic colleagues. He should be well served by Mike and Jerry, for years the rhythm section of the Indian fusion group Natraj, and the Dean of Boston saxophonists, George Garzone."
