Thought Industries Celebrates 10 Years of External Learning and Surpasses 21 Million Active Learners

BOSTON, Sept. 20, 2023 ~ Thought Industries, the leading external enterprise learning platform for customer, partner and professional training, is celebrating its 10th anniversary and a new growth milestone. The company has surpassed 21 million active learners using its technology.

Founded in 2013 in a garage in Boston, Thought Industries has stayed true to its vision of helping its clients increase revenue, retain customers, and create truly exceptional learning experiences. CEO and Cofounder Barry Kelly said "We knew learning experiences could offer so much more, and it's been a tremendous honor working with so many incredible customers, partners, and team members over the years. The growth we've seen, and perhaps more important, the opportunity ahead, is an incredible validation of our original vision for the product."

The company was named the #1 Global Learning System by Craig Weiss and recently took home five Brandon Hall 2023 Group Excellence Awards in External Training categories. Thought Industries achieved record revenue and profitability in the first half of 2023 due to enterprise demand from new customers including ATD, Fidelity Digital Learning, and Project Lead the Way as well as renewals from current customers including Miro, The Linux Foundation, and Ingram Micro.

The company's performance over the past decade has had global scale and impact with more than 21 million active learners in 195 countries spending 30 million minutes engaged with learning. There have been over 51 million course completions with more than 20 million certificates earned. Customers actively manage more than $230 million on the Ti platform with record global reliability of 99.9+% uptime.

Clyde Seepersad from The Linux Foundation said "Training is a multi-million-dollar revenue source for us, and we've grown 50% since our launch with Thought Industries in 2020." He added that they can customize various user experiences which are important to their customers due to support from Thought Industries.

Giving back to the community is also a core part of what Thought Industries is about; they have supported causes such as autism research, breast cancer research, epilepsy research as well as The Van Noy Valor Foundation which provides an ongoing platform to reach foster kids in the US to educate themselves as they enter the job market. They have also supported Samaritans providing lifesaving suicide prevention services in Massachusetts as well as BostonCares which is the largest volunteer agency in New England.

Thought Industries will celebrate its 10 year anniversary at its annual industry event COGNITION now in its 4th year featuring panelists and speakers from Dell Google SAS The Linux Foundation Mastercard Hewlett Packard Enterprise among others. CEO Barry Kelly concluded "These milestones represent the focus and passion from our team and customers but it's just the beginning." He added that their product roadmap will help ensure growth of external learning as a market with Thought Industries leading that space for years to come.
