Boston-based education organization states that AI safety standards must originate from government protocol, not from the investors whose returns depend on the pace of deployment
BOSTON - BostonChron -- 4T Global Mind LLC today published a public position statement responding to former President Barack Obama's remarks at Colgate University this month, in which he rejected the argument that market forces and post-hoc litigation can be relied upon to keep artificial intelligence safe. "There's no replacement for an effective, government regulatory structure," Obama said, comparing AI to industries such as airlines, pharmaceuticals, and food production — none of which the United States governs through liability lawsuits alone.
4T Global Mind, founded by Reverend Benjamin Abrahams, states that it shares this conviction, and that the position predates this particular public debate. The organization's founding architecture, the Engine–Pilot model, first articulated in Abrahams's book Cognitive Law (2024), holds that artificial intelligence must remain a tool under permanent human governance — never an autonomous decision-maker answerable primarily to its own commercial deployment.

"Artificial intelligence's safety guidelines must not be authored by the people who profit from AI's acceleration," the statement reads. "This is not a criticism of innovation, and it is not a criticism of the engineers and scientists building these systems — work 4T Global Mind is itself part of advancing. It is a statement about incentives. A safety standard's integrity depends on independence from commercial pressure."
The organization's audience — teachers training the next generation in AI-literate, computationally rigorous thinking — is, the statement argues, precisely who bears the cost when safety guidance is shaped by market incentive rather than public accountability. "Our audience is teachers and the students they will train to inherit these systems," the statement continues. "They deserve government-set guardrails, not investor-authored reassurance."
